Keynote Speaker

ANZAOMS 2010 is delighted to announce that this year's speaker will be Robert Ord.

Professor Ord qualified BDS at Kings College Hospital in London, and MB. BCh  (Hons) at the University Hospital of Wales. He is a FDSRCPS(Glas), FRCS (Ed) and FACS and has an MS in Pathology. He was a Consultant OMFS at Sunderland, England 1985-89, and has been at the University of Maryland 1989-present and is currently the Professor and Chairman of OMFS.

Clinically he restricts his practice to pathology/oncology and has a particular interest in oral/jaw cancer and salivary tumors. Professor Ord has published 3 books, 50+ book chapters and 100+ peer reviewed papers mostly In the area of oncology. Professor Ord’s research interests have included pre-malignancy and cancer prevention. His unit has the only 2 year accredited Oncology /Micro-vascular OMFS Fellowship in the US.

Professor Ord is the Oncology Section Editor for IJOMS and sits on the Editorial Boards of JCMFS, Indian JOMS and China JOMS. He is a previous examiner for the American Board of OMFS, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburg  and the University of Singapore.
